Before the Panzerfaust made tank-killing almost easy, it was almost suicidal. The "Panzerknacker" — "tank cracker" — was the infantryman trained to destroy a tank at arm's length, running up to it under fire to jam a mine against its tracks, wedge a demolition charge in its running gear, or clamp a magnetic charge to its hull. The Teller mine this man carries was really a plate mine meant to be buried in a road, but a determined soldier would haul one forward and place it directly on a tank. It was desperate work, and the German army recognized it with a special badge for any soldier who knocked out a tank single-handed — an honor few lived to wear twice.
The figure sprints with an MP40 in one hand and the Teller mine in the other, in a camouflage smock and steel helmet, closing on his target. Build a tank-hunting team with the waiting Panzerknacker with Panzerfaust and the Grenadier with Panzerfaust, stalking the U.S. M4A3 Sherman.
