This toy soldier, depicts Confederate General Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson mounted on his trusted horse, Little Sorrel. He was a graduate of West Point and served with distinction in the Mexican-American War.

At the First Battle of Bull Run, Jackson's unwavering determination and strategic use of reinforcements earned him the nickname 'Stonewall' from fellow soldier Barnard Elliott Bee Jr. However, at the Battle of Chancellorsville, Jackson's life was tragically cut short when he and his party were mistaken for Union cavalry and were shot by their own pickets. He passed away eight days later on May 10, 1863.
