The Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler began as a bodyguard and ended as one of the most notorious divisions of the war. Formed in 1933 under Sepp Dietrich, it was originally a hand-picked guard for Hitler's person — its men swore their oath of loyalty not to Germany but to Hitler himself, and stood sentry at the Chancellery in black dress uniform and the "Adolf Hitler" cuff title. As war came it was expanded into a front-line Waffen-SS formation and grew into a full armoured division. Wherever it fought — the Eastern Front, Italy, Normandy, the Ardennes — it earned a reputation for both hard fighting and atrocity, its name attached to the massacre of prisoners and civilians. Bodyguard and war-criminal unit at once, it was the SS in miniature.

The three-figure set is the regiment's colour party: a standard-bearer with the LAH's own eagle-topped standard — the "Adolf Hitler" name plaque above the "Deutschland Erwache" banner — flanked by two officers with drawn sabres. It anchors the collection's SS pageantry: pose it with the regiment's founder and commander, Sepp Dietrich, the leader it was sworn to guard, Adolf Hitler, and the marching SS Bannerman at its side. As the centrepiece of a Berlin parade diorama, the LAH colour party is the formal heart of the whole spectacle.
