Toy Soldier Chess Sets

At Breagans, we get so many request for toy soldier chess sets and now we finally have them! These are beautifully crafted chess pieces with an antique finish and wooden chess case. Hand painted finish is also available.

Displaying a historically accurate painted chess set in your home or office is a great way to spark conversations with guests or colleagues. It serves as a focal point and invites discussions about history, strategy, and the game of chess itself.

Antique Finish means that the chess pieces are polished first then undercoated in a black paint and that is skillfully rubbed off the highlights and left in the creases and depths so each chess piece is brought into strong contrast. This is an excellant alternative to fully painted versions of the chess sets.

Hand Painted Finish means that the chess theme is carefully researched to be as historically accurate as possible and painted with Vallejo acrylic paints by our experienced Irish artists. Each layer has to be dried before the next layer can be applied. Many specialist techniques are deployed including 'drybrushing' and 'washes' to create glowing colours that catch the eye and make our painted sets stand out head and shoulders over our competition. All pieces are designed by our internationally famous designer Chris Tubb.

The wooden chess case has a built-in board and two drawers with foam protection for all the chess pieces to be safely stored away when being carried.
