Collection: Tradition of London WWI

Tradition of London World War I toy soldiers in the classic 54mm gloss-painted English style. Where the rest of the WWI toy soldier market has moved toward muddy realism — khaki, trench coats, weathered helmets — Tradition of London tends to capture the war's opening months in 1914, when uniforms still carried the colour and tailoring of the nineteenth century. French infantry in red trousers and dark blue greatcoats. British regulars in khaki service dress but still recognisably crisp. German troops in field grey with the spiked Pickelhaube before the steel Stahlhelm replaced it. It is a deliberately romantic register, and it suits the Tradition of London look better than the late-war drab of 1917-18.

These are 54mm gloss-painted pieces in the classic English toy soldier tradition — different in feel and scale from the 1/30 (60mm) matte-painted figures from W. Britain or King & Country.
