The Inniskillings were born in a siege. In 1689 the Protestant townspeople of Enniskillen, in Ulster, raised their own cavalry to hold out for William of Orange against the Jacobite army. That June the troops were combined into a single regiment under Sir Albert Cunningham. They rode to help relieve Derry, then joined William's army and fought at the Boyne in 1690 and at Aughrim in 1691. In 1751 the regiment was formally titled the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons. In the Seven Years War it joined raids on the French coast before going to Germany, where it fought at Minden in 1759 and Warburg in 1760.

All three ride black horses with white socks at a steady walk. The officer wears a white wig under a laced tricorne, and a red coat with yellow facings over a laced buff waistcoat, with a crimson sash and black jackboots. His yellow shabraque is edged in silver. The two troopers carry their swords upright at the shoulder. They wear red coats with yellow facings and white lace, buff waistcoats and breeches, and jackboots. Their yellow shabraques carry the royal cipher, with cloaks rolled behind the saddle. Pair them with The Scots Grey's Cavalry: black horses beside grey make a striking British cavalry display. For Minden, set both behind British Infantry.
