Federal Cavalry Trooper Holding Horse
Federal Cavalry Trooper Holding Horse
This toy soldier set features a Federal Cavalry Trooper holding a horse.
This set is inspired by the American Civil War, during which Union army guidelines mandated specific criteria for cavalry horse selection. The horses had to be at least 15 hands high, weigh a minimum of 950 pounds, and be between 4 and 10 years old. They also had to be well-broken to bridle and saddle, and free from defects such as shallow breathing, deformed hooves, spavin, or ringbone. Geldings were preferred for cavalry horses, with the purchase of mares strictly prohibited outside of absolute military emergency. Stallions were generally considered unsuitable for service due to their volatility and aggressiveness.
Both the North and South initially hesitated in forming mounted units due to financial considerations. Each regiment cost approximately $300,000 for initial organization, with annual upkeep expenses totaling over $100,000. This 1/30 scale toy set features a matte finish and comes with a single figure in a box. Add this Federal Cavalry Trooper Holding Horse set to your collection today and relive a piece of American history.
