The tank that played "Fury" is as real as the film was fictional, and it has a stranger history than its Hollywood role. It is an actual M4A3 "Easy Eight" Sherman — the improved late-war model with a 76mm gun and wide, comfortable tracks — built at the Fisher Tank Arsenal in Michigan in March 1945. It was finished so late that the war in Europe ended before it could reach it, and it never saw combat. Passed to the British and then the Canadians, it eventually came to rest at The Tank Museum in Bovington, England, kept in full running order. When director David Ayer needed a Sherman to star in his 2014 film, Bovington's runner got the part — and stole the show.

K&C's model is a full-metal "Easy Eight" in olive drab, "FURY" painted along the 76mm barrel exactly as in the film, the hull piled with the stowage, logs and spare track that veteran crews hung on for extra protection, and a tank commander up at the .50 calibre Browning in goggles and tanker's helmet. Set it beside the store's other Sherman, the winter "Kraut Killer", load it with the tank-riders of Sitting, Smoking & Waiting, and give it infantry to shepherd like the Advancing Rifleman. As a centerpiece it barely needs a diorama — but drop it into a ruined German town in 1945 and the whole scene falls in around it.
