The Rebel Yell was a high-pitched, ululating war cry that Confederate infantry produced as they charged. Union veterans afterward described it as "the most infernal noise I ever heard," "a hellish scream," "a feeling of horror I cannot describe." The yell did the same tactical work the Union "Hurrah!" did — declared the formation's presence to the enemy, lifted the morale of the men shouting it, drowned out individual officers' orders — but the sound was distinctively Southern, possibly drawn from foxhunting cries or Native American war whoops the early Confederate regiments' rural recruits had grown up with. There is no surviving authentic recording of it; the few veterans who recorded their attempts in the early 20th century could no longer summon the original sound.

This W. Britain two-figure set depicts Confederate infantry in mid-charge, rifles leveled with bayonets fixed, faces set in the rush. One soldier wears the gray jacket and light blue trousers of early-war issue; the other wears the gray-and-butternut mix-and-match kit of mid-to-late-war Confederate service. Both carry knapsacks with bedrolls, cartridge boxes, and the long Springfield Model 1861 rifle-musket. The set is a centerpiece for any Confederate assault diorama — pair them with the Texas Brigade and 1st Texas figures to extend a brigade-strength charging line, or place them ahead of regimental colors to anchor a Pickett's Charge or Wilderness assault scene. Pair this set with Texas Brigade Infantry Charging No.3 for a multi-figure assault line; with 1st Texas Flagbearer (3rd Issue) as the regimental colors; or with Lt. Gen. James Longstreet as the corps commander directing the attack.
