Union Iron Brigade Ramming Cartridge
Union Iron Brigade Ramming Cartridge
This is toy soldier - Union Iron Brigade Ramming Cartridge
The figure is shown standing and reaching for his cap, representing a common action during the American Civil War. Introduced in the early 1820s, the percussion cap was a single-use ignition device for muzzle loaded firearms. This figure depicts a Union soldier using this technology to quickly re-arm his modern, percussion, rifled musket.
The percussion system was the most predominant method of ignition throughout the entirety of the Civil War, although research shows that the Confederate army did use flint-lock ignition muskets during the early stages of the conflict. This 1/30 scale figure is finished with a matte coating and comes in a single box. It is a historically accurate representation of a Union soldier during the Civil War and is a great addition to any toy soldier collection.
