This is toy soldier 31397 Confederate Flagbearer, 1st Texas, First Pattern Wool Bunting Flag, Texas Brigade

This toy soldier, is a unique and historically accurate representation of the Confederate Flagbearer from the 1st Texas Regiment. This regiment was known for carrying a factory-made battle flag, in addition to their iconic Wigfall pattern Lone Star flag made of silk.

The smaller second flag, featured on this toy soldier, was designed with the St. Andrew's cross and stars representing the states of the Confederacy. What makes this flag even more special is that it was made from wool bunting captured from the Federal navy and issued to only two or three brigades in the Army of Northern Virginia in 1862.

This specific flag was carried into battle at Antietam on September 17, 1862, and unfortunately, was lost during the intense fighting in Miller's cornfield. However, it was eventually returned to Texas in 1905 and is now part of the Historic Flags of the Texas State Library and Archives.

This toy soldier is a 1/30 scale and features a matte finish. It comes in a single figure box, making it a perfect addition to any collection or display. Own a piece of history with this Confederate Flagbearer 1st Texas First Pattern toy soldier.
