This is toy soldier Confederate Flagbearer, 5th Texas Flag, Texas Brigade.
This toy soldier is a unique representation of the 5th Texas Flag, part of the Texas Brigade during the Civil War. The original silk flag was replaced with a wool one made by Mrs. Matilda “Maude” Jane Fuller Young, a Houston botanist and school principal. It was first used at the Battle of Gaines Mill and went on to serve as the regimental colors throughout the war. This 1/30 scale figure comes in a box with a matte finish.
