At Honey Springs in Indian Territory on July 17, 1863, the 29th Texas Cavalry fought on foot near the center of the Confederate line. Directly across from them was the 1st Kansas Colored Infantry, one of the first Black regiments in the Union army to see major combat. In the fight at close range, the Kansans broke the Texas line, and the 29th Texas lost its regimental colors to them. For the 1st Kansas Colored, it was a defining victory in front of skeptics who doubted Black men could fight. For the Texans, losing the flag was the hardest blow a regiment could take. The 29th Texas regrouped and kept fighting in the territory until the war ended.

The figure rides a chestnut horse with white stockings, holding the regiment's colors upright. K&C has painted the flag as a Confederate battle flag with a blue band along the staff bearing a white Texas lone star and the regiment's name, finished with gold cords and tassels. The flagbearer wears a gray shell jacket with yellow trim and a gray kepi, with his carbine and saber at hand and a blanket roll on a gray saddle blanket striped in red. Lead the regiment with the Confederate Cavalry Officer and the 29th Texas Trumpeter, or dismount the line behind him with Sergeant Firing Pistol.
