In the spring of 1760, with Quebec in British hands since the previous September, the Chevalier de Lévis gathered every regular battalion left in Canada, both battalions of Berry among them, and marched back down the St. Lawrence to retake the city. On 28 April, at Sainte-Foy outside the walls, General James Murray came out to meet him. After a hard fight the French drove the British back inside Quebec. Lévis laid siege to the city, but in May British warships came up the river before any French relief could arrive, and he had to fall back on Montreal. Sainte-Foy was one of the last French victories of the war in North America.

Don Troiani paints a fusilier of Berry off duty, raising a clay pipe to his mouth with one hand, his musket tucked under his other arm. He wears a black tricorne edged in yellow and the grey-white coat of the French line with Berry's red cuffs, over a red waistcoat. Buff belts carry his cartridge pouch and sword, and white gaiters are buttoned to the knee. W. Britain sculpted French Fusilier Regiment Berry, 1758 from this painting, so print and figure display naturally together. Hang it beside Don Troiani's Bearn Regiment, and add Tradition of London's French Infantry, whose description covers the surrender at Montreal that came five months after Sainte-Foy.
