Collection: W. Britain World War II - Allied Forces
This collection gathers the Allied forces of the Second World War in 1/30 scale — the fighting men and the commanders who led them, from the rifleman with his M1 Garand to the Supreme Commander himself. American infantry hold the largest share: the rifle squads, weapons teams, tankers, and armored infantry of the U.S. Army, the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne at Normandy and Bastogne, and the bomber and fighter crews of the U.S. Army Air Forces. Alongside them stand the sailors and naval aviators of the U.S. Navy, the RAF and Royal Navy of Britain, the Free French of Charles de Gaulle, and the Allied high command — Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, Montgomery, Nimitz, MacArthur, and Churchill.
The figures span the war's defining moments: the D-Day beaches and the hedgerow fighting of the Normandy bocage, the frozen siege of Bastogne, the daylight bombing of Germany and the Battle of Britain, the carrier war in the Pacific, and the liberation of Paris. Most are W. Britain matte-painted metal, built to read well on their own or grouped into dioramas — a rifle squad in the attack, a bomber crew at the hardstand, a Bastogne perimeter in the snow. New figures are added as the collection grows.
